school council

At St. Giles, we know it is important for all pupils to have the opportunity to share their views. Therefore, each class has democratically elected two representatives to join the school council.

Meet this year’s school council members:

The main aim of the school council is to support the development of the school by listening to the suggestions of others, discussing ways to make the school even better and communicating these with staff, governors and parents.

We know that a good school council member should be able to;

* Listen to the voice of all pupils

* Communicate effectively in group discussions

* Plan, Do and Review new ideas

* Research and discuss ways to solve problems

* Report to pupils in whole school assemblies about new ideas

* Report to the head teacher about new ideas

* Raise money for local charities
