MUSIC AT ST. GILES'

Music at St. Giles’ features heavily in daily school life – our staff love to sing! Each week we have a singing assembly where we learn a range of songs, from pop to reggae to traditional! We learn songs from Jigsaw, seasonal songs which we will sing in our termly Church services and also fun and engaging warm ups. In our daily collective worship we also have focus listening music where we will learn about composers, different genres and instruments.

The children have a weekly music lesson based on ‘Kapow’; a musical scheme of work which supports all the requirements of the national curriculum. For more information please follow the link: Kapow Music

We are a singing school, we have a choir which runs each week and is open to all children from Year 1 and Year 2. The choir works toward performances in services and at school fairs, as well as taking part in local music festivals. We also run a lunchtime Recorder club for the children.
